For 2013, the Temporary Social Security tax rate will expire.  Therefore the tax
rate for social security for
both employee and employer will return to 6.2%.  The
FUTA tax liability will also remain at 0.6%.

New York Wage Theft Prevention Act (WTPA) effective April 9th, 2011
The WTPA enhances protection for employees while adding additional
requirements for employers.  As far as payroll is concerned, employers will be
required to show additional information on all employee check stubs (including
employer address and phone number).  Also, employers must give
written
notice of wage rates to every new hire and to
all employees by February 1st of
each year.

Additional New Hire requirements effective July 15th, 2011
Clients that hire and employ workers in NY will be required to indicate whether
dependent health insurance benefits are available to the employee.
